Working Out at Home

Working Out at Home

Sometimes there is no babysitter or someone to look after the little ones to get your workout in. Get creative! Grab some bands, a yoga mat, and workout up a sweat. I love to target a body part like legs and add explosive movements such as burpees to keep my heart rate up. There are so many ways to train at home with bands.

Here are some great lower body exercises you can do with bands.

  • Low Side Lunges (each side) - 5 Set x 15 Reps
  • Leg Lunges - 5 Set x 15 Reps
  • Donkey Kicks (each side) - 5 Set x 30 Reps
  • Side Leg Lifts (each side) - 5 Set x 20 Reps

My favorite exercise is side lunges with bands around my ankles across the living room. Stay low so you really feel the burn and to help target outer thighs and glutes.

Have fun and focus on your journey! Consistency is key.

Have a beautiful day!

NPC National Bikini Competitor & Team BeautyFit® Athlete

I was born in Louisiana but have lived all over as a military child. My father is my biggest hero and I couldn’t wait for the opportunity to follow in his footsteps and serve my country. I currently serve in the US Army alongside my husband. We are both stationed in Virginia and have four wonderful kids. I have an MBA in finance and have traveled all over the world defending as well as protecting others.

I got my start in athletics at a young age participating in track, swimming and volleyball, which taught me the value of teamwork, and motivating others to succeed. After a long running season consisting of back-to-back half marathons in 2012, I decided it was time for a change. I wanted something different out of my fitness endeavors and had a desire to work harder to get it. I started researching online and decided to see what a NPC show was really like, so in 2013 I went to my first show and was hooked ever since.

I love hearing that I inspire others by giving 100% each day while maintaining a balanced life. I am so proud of how far I have come. With each show, I grow stronger and I love being in the best shape of my life. It is such a good feeling to see my gains and hard work pay off with each show. I don’t go to beat the women next to me: I go to beat myself, the girl who was on the last stage, the girl who pushed me to be better this show
